The Company is proud to be a leader in environmental innovation, and is at the forefront of the solar panel installation industry in Winnipeg. Solar is an economic, environmental and sustainable solution for energy production in Canada. 

Their mission is to help people in the private sector to take energy production into their own hands. Recent advancements in solar technology have resulted in more efficient solar panels and inverters being available at a fraction of historic prices. These advancements, coupled with Manitoba Hydro’s rebate program make it more affordable than ever to go solar, and the payoff period for many installs is under 10 years.

ABOUT THE JOB 

The Company is looking for Solar Installer. The position is based out of Winnipeg and the selected candidates may be required to travel as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installing Solar Systems
  • Carrying out Electrical Construction
  • Performing Maintenance Work
  • Traveling to and from job sites
  • Undertaking General Labor Duties and other reasonable expectations.

APPLICANT QUALITIES 

The candidates will have a strong desire to develop a career in the renewable energy field and will be willing to participate in an apprenticeship program.

COMPENSATION AND HOURS

Full-Time, $22/hr

LOCATION

Winnipeg, MB and required to travel as needed.

HOW TO APPLY

This position is posted by Iron and Earth. Your interest in this position would involve participating in the Net-Zero Pathways (NZP) Program, if eligible.

The Net-Zero Pathways Program will enable self-identified and engaged Indigenous and  underserved communities, fossil fuel workers and their communities to diversify their skills into a net-zero sector. For 7 weeks, NZP provides one-on-one case management, employability soft skills teachings, and engagement with employers to recruit and hire skilled workers seeking reliable employment opportunities. 

Week 1: Introduction to Net-Zero and its pathways (renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainability). NZP provides a fully paid 5-day (including wrap-around financial assistance) employability and employer-based workshop with an overview of the opportunities in the renewable energy sector. 

Weeks 2-7: We will assist with your onboarding for the first 6 weeks of your new job with an employer in the Net-Zero industry. You will also be assigned a Case Manager for support.
