Join Randall Benson from Gridworks Energy Group for the 5 day 'Advanced Solar PV Design & Installation Course for Grid Connected Systems'.

With over 15 years experience in the solar industry, Randal Benson (Master Electrician) has personally trained over 900 electricians in Alberta alone. Gridworks Energy Group is Western Canada's only CSA certified Solar PV trainer for the Solar PV certification exam, with many of its students progressing to career in the solar industry off the back of this course.

'The Solar Patch' is tipped to be the next big boom industry in Alberta and offers a unique opportunity for skilled tradespeople to diversify their skill set into an emerging economy.

The object of the 5 day PV design course is to provide knowledge, experience and insight in to the solar PV industry, and to provide students the tools and skills needed to design & install grid-connected PV systems. This hands on course will teach students about the Canadian Electrical Code and how it applies to solar PV, the healthy & safety implication on the work site and the theory behind solar PV systems. This practical course will allow students to add 'Design & Installation of Grid-Connected Solar PV Systems' to their resume and begin a flourishing new career in the renewable energy industry.

Iron & Earth was founded and operates on Indigenous land within Treaty Six Territory and Métis Region 4 in amiskwaciy-wâskahikan (in Nehiyawewin/Cree), so-called Edmonton. We pay our respects to all Indigenous Peoples of this land. Through their spiritual and practical relationships with the land, a rich heritage for our learning and our life as a community has been created and maintained. We recognize that the transition to a low-carbon future must be led by Indigenous Peoples and that there will be no justice unless we acknowledge and repair our relationship with the land.

We are committed to responding to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action and upholding the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and acknowledge that we are always learning and unlearning practices that minimize harm and lead to the development of trust between us and Indigenous Peoples across Nations and urban centers.
