Iron & Earth Calgary is the second official chapter of the organization to form, and the first based in Alberta.
Alberta is currently the hot bed for discussions around Canada's future energy needs. The home of the oilsands and a province famed for its oil and gas production, Alberta has found itself in a period of instability, uncertainty and stagnation since the oil price drop in 2016. With continued job loses and sustained high unemployment rates there is a need for the province to develop new, innovative ways to get skilled workers back on the site.
Thankfully Alberta is also one of the most resource rich provinces for the emerging renewable energy industry. As renewable technology becomes cheaper and more efficient the opportunities for Alberta to get residents back to work whilst developing a more sustainable balanced energy sector become more tangible.
Led by Victoria Waye, Iron & Earth Calgary is an collection of members and supporters who come together to learn, network and develop their understanding of the Renewable Energy industry.
The Calgary chapter is always looking for new members, volunteers and supporters to join the team and help Albertans get back to work. If you want to learn about renewables, future job opportunities in the sector and how you can prepare for a transition into a new industry then sign up now!
